The Stonewall Inn in New York City is considered the birth of the Gay Civil Rights movement in the United States. In 1969 on June 28th after the bar had been raided by police several times that year the Drag Qeens andpatrons of the bar rebelled against one more raid. When the riots took off the police in the raid had to be protected inside the bar. The riots continued for several following evenings.
