NIDL has a youth group and other group meetings taking place at NIDL in room B41 on the lower level of the Helmke Library on IPFW Campus. 
Please read about them below.
Larger events may be elsewhere in Helmke, on campus, or at a location near you--check the calendar for event details.

Events & Shows

NIDL has provided Diversity Library table-displays at events planned by area organizations, churches, schools and libraries.  If your organization, church, school, library or group would like a NIDL to set up a display about Diversity Library please contact NIDL by phone or email.

Crossdresser's Discussion Group

About the group:
We would like to let any crossdresser out there know that they are not alone.  During the Helmke Library Refresh ...the Crossdresser's Discussion Group will meets the third Sunday of the month from 7pm till 9 PM @ After Dark bar on 112 W Masterson AvenueThere are a lot of different topics talked about. So come on out and join in on the fun.

Transgender Discussion Group

About the group:

We would like to let any transgender person out there know that you are not alone.  During the Helmke Library Refresh ...the Transgender Discussion Group will meets the third Sunday of
the month from 7pm till 9 PM @ After Dark bar on112 W Masterson Avenue. There are a wide range of ideas that are discussed, along with a chance to meet people at different levels in their progress.  So don't be shy!  Come on out and join in on the conversations.

Horizons Youth Group

About Horizons Youth Group: horizons
Horizons offers a safe space for GLBT teens and their allied friends to socialize with others and learn about themselves in Fort Wayne and the surrounding Northeast Indiana areaHorizons was established by UTSCC in 1997.  It is a social group for GLBT youth in middle school and high school. During the Helmke Library's Summer Hours we lose NIDL's evening hours ... So the Horizons will not meet at the NIDL! 
 
Horizons will join with the Center For Nonviolence's Youth Group for this Summer...

Horizons is primarily a social/discussion group.  However, this format also serves as an educational and support network.  If you are a teen in middle school or high school who wants a group where you can be yourself or if you are a parent, counselor or teacher who knows gay teens who could benefit from this group please feel free to contact NIDL for more details or email to the address below with Horizons in the subject line.

Horizons would like to thank the Fort Wayne Derby Girls for raising and donating to the NIDL $132 for Horizons and Youth materials.  You Girls ROCK! 

 

Donations:  As a NIDL-sponsored group, the Horizons Youth Group shares  the Fort Wayne Community Educational Center's 501(c)(3) status and donations are tax deductible.  Make checks out to "NIDL" and note them for Horizons in the memo.
