All library users are encouraged to ask for assistance at the Circulation Desk.  Research assistance will be provided to patrons on a limited first-come, first-serve basis.  Appointments with a librarian may be made at the Circulation Desk; by email This email address is being protected from spambots. NIDL provides searchable access to the circulating collection on the NIDL’s webpage www.nidl.info on the internet.  NIDL’s archives are being electronically indexed and require staff assistance to access materials. Indiana residents may take advantage of the state-supported Inspire suite of databases.

 

Printing may be done for 10 cents a page for B&W or $1.00 a page for color.  Search results may be downloaded to an USB device from any library workstation.

Circulation of Library Materials

New patrons are limited to 2 books the first 30 days.  Established patrons are limited to 5 items at a time per person. Books and books on cassette/CD are loaned for a 30 day period. Videos, DVDs, VHS tapes, and music CDs are loaned for a 7 day period.  Magazines/periodicals are to be used in-house only--see staff for article reproduction.  Photocopies cost 10 cents a page for B&W or $1.00 for color.

Library privileges will be extended to anyone with two valid IDs. (e.g., a driver's license, school ID, or public library card) No age restrictions except for when borrowing certain age-rated materials.

Both Indiana residents and Out-of-state visitors are welcome to use NIDL.

Computer & Copying Services

Computer Availability

Library workstations are available to the public in the computer area of the library.  NIDL workstations currently run XP may be used for word processing among other Office programs and internet searching.  Search results may be downloaded to an USB device from any library workstation.

IYG

Indiana Youth Group (IYG) provides safe places and confidential environments where self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth are empowered through programs, support services, social and leadership opportunities and community service. IYG advocates on their behalf in schools, in the community and through family support services.
