NIDL's presence on the IPFW Campus is a IPFW LOGOcollaboration between the Fort Wayne Community Educational Center, Inc., IPFW, and the Walter E. Helmke Library.  The Helmke Library and other departments provide space and environment to NIDL and in exchange see the collection as a support to curriculum in areas of sexuality, psychology and civil rights to name a few.

The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne is the realization of the vision of leaders three-quarters of a century ago. Many donors have helped the Community Foundation grow to become a major philanthropic asset in the community.  For NIDL the Foundation has supported our parent agency (the Fort Wayne Community Educational Center Inc.) in good times and bad including grants to automate our circulation and more.  The Foundation also holds assets of the FWCEC which can be grown by donations in various types of giving including Matching funds and Charitable Gift Annuities

Corporate Funding:

The NIDL is appreciative of companies who support their staff, customers and their families in our local community.
Macys logoMacy's has had a long standing commitment of support to diversity.  Macy's has a program of regional grants to non-profits in the communities of their stores.  The grant of $2,500.00 will help the NIDL's work in providing access materials to the Fort Wayne, LGBT community and preserving the local LGBT history and culture.

The General Motors Foundation spent time Thursday morning, October 15th, cutting some big checks to a number of local organizations, as part of its 2015 Plant City Grants.  The NIDL was one of 13 local non-profit organizations selected to receive a monetary donation that for all totaled $130,000. The grants given ranged anywhere from $4,000 to $50,000 each. Money was raised throughout the year by donations made by GM employees.  The Northeast Indiana Diversity Library received  $6,000 for program support.  For the NIDL it means helping with support of the Library and preservation of materials in the archives.

Donations:

NIDL shares the Fort Wayne Community Educational Centers' 501(c)(3) status and donations are tax deductible.  Make checks out to "NIDL" and mail them to the address below or click the links above on this page to see other ways of giving.  We need your support to the Library at this time which is crucial for the preservation of our GLBT library and for the library's future.  Please, won't you consider giving a tax-deductable gift of support so that this library will not be lost to our community?  The library also warmly welcomes donations of  materials.
